Meet Location, all Hikes:    

 

At the south end of the Rite Aid parking lot, across from the post office.  

 

Transportation will be by car pool or by the City of McCall Recreation van.  

A voluntary, but not mandatory, donation of $4-$6, depending on the distance, is suggested

to offset the volunteer drivers' or van expenses.

 

Always Bring:          

1) hiking shoes in a bag so volunteers' cars stay cleaner.

2) hiking poles, hat, bug spray, lunch and alot of water as the hikes are usually a full-day event. A spare traveling pair of shoes is recommended.  No dogs or small children.

  Goose Creek Trail to Brundage Dam/Brundage Dam to Goose Creek Trail.  

Easy, intermediate and advanced.  This will be a crossover hike with two groups starting from opposite trailheads.  There is a creek crossing.  Beginners will hike down and intermediate/advanced hikers will hike up.  Approximately 6.5 miles.  680 ft. elevation gain from Goose Creek to GC trailhead.  Hike leaders:  Susan Waters will lead beginners.  Need volunteer for intermediate/advanced hike leader.

Crystal Lak   Crystal Lake.   Intermediate and advanced.  6 miles RT; elevation gain of approximately 1950 ft., switchback trail.  Hike leaders:  Janis Seufert for intermediate and volunteer needed for advanced.

Warm Lake Firefighter ’s Memorial Trail.  Easy, intermediate and advanced hike.  6+ miles RT.  Hike leader:  Bud Keys.

 

Note:  For those who are interested in spending the night, meet at the Warm Lake Lodge at 9:00 a.m.   You can either hike the above trail or join in on several exploratory hikes on Wednesday and Thursday to identify future trails for an August Hike-A-Thon.  Camping is available in the Warm Lake area or there may be cabins available at the lodge.  For further info, contact Susan Waters at 634-2371.
