Historic Lolo Trail Corridor & Bicentennial Lewis & Clark Trail
Trip Dates: Tuesday, August 24 & Wednesday, August 25
The Lolo Trail corridor holds a wealth of treasures. It was the site of many historical events and carries the memories of hundreds of years of American Indian use. Two National Historic Trails -- the Nez Perce and the Lewis and Clark -- stretch the full length of the Lolo Trail, which is also a National Historic Landmark. The McCall Hiking Club has permits for 35 people. RSVP!
Below is what you need to do: l)
Contact Susan Waters (634-2371) to confirm your participation.
We are limited to 8 vehicles. You
must have an access number for your car. Fill your vehicle with passengers.
Deliver coolers, tents and gear to the Gorsline’s for transport in their pick
up truck. (634-1793 … 945 Lick Ck.) 2)
Pay the driver $10 each way. 3)
Sign the ‘Hold Harmless Agreement’ (it's in your August newsletter) and give
to Susan Waters at Powell Campground. 4) Day 1: August
24. 3 l/2 hour drive from McCall (map on back.)
A
30 min. video “On Sacred Ground” plays at the Dinner
at the Lodge. Day 2: August
25. After breakfast meet at There
is no water so bring plenty. Day 3: August
26. Complete the rest of the 199 mile drive and exit at Kamiah.
Remember to bring: Ice chest, food, drinking water, pots, pans, eating utensils, cookstove, fuel, matches, first aid kit, insect repellent, sunscreen, lantern, flashlight, tent, sleeping bag, warm clothing, rain gear, binoculars, camera, toilet articles, spare car tire in good condition, extra gasoline if necessary, etc. We can share some items. Not everyone needs everything.
